WBAS Youth Arts Leaders Conference

“Excellence & Collaboration Through Music”

Since 2007, WBAS has organised the well-received Band Student Leaders Workshop to build the capacities of band student leaders in Singapore. Over time, it has partnered various local and US education organisations to transform the leadership workshop into a more holistic conference to benefit youth leaders from a range of musical ensembles and age groups.

In this conference, participants will not only hear from acclaimed international and local leadership gurus and music educators but will also get to share and exchange best practices with arts leaders from community, tertiary, junior college and secondary school musical groups.

The two-day conference will touch on the three interlocking realms of the youth arts leader, namely personal leadership, musicianship and leading others.

Through interactive and collaborative learning, participants get to develop leadership skills and musical concepts to improve their personal competencies and that of their musical groups. They will also have opportunities to exchange best practices with like-minded leaders and apply their learning in hands-on sessions.
